How does HairCheck work?

You take a photo of your hair or scalp inside the App. The photo is securely transmitted to our servers and to our AI vision provider, which analyses the image and returns a set of scores, recommendations, and an AI‑generated before/after projection. Results are shown in the App and saved to your scan history.

Is HairCheck a medical app?

No. HairCheck is an informational and educational tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. For any health concern, consult a licensed dermatologist, trichologist, or physician. See the full health disclaimer.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple through your Apple ID, not by us.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select HairCheck.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions directly. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.

How do I request a refund?

All purchases go through Apple. Submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot directly refund App Store purchases, but we are happy to help you troubleshoot any issue that triggered the request — just email us.

I restored a purchase on a new device but premium features are still locked.

Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. In the App, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. If the issue persists, email us with your approximate purchase date and we will help unlock access.

How accurate are the AI scores and before/after images?

Scores are estimates produced by an AI vision model and are intended to give you a directional view of your hair condition. AI‑generated before/after images are illustrative only and do not represent guaranteed outcomes. Results vary based on factors the App cannot assess, such as genetics, hormones, medication, and lifestyle.

How do I delete my data?

HairCheck does not require an account. To delete data:

What permissions does the App need, and why?

You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. The App will continue to work for any features that do not depend on the revoked permission.

Does HairCheck track me or show ads?

No. We do not show advertisements, we do not use third‑party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA). See our Privacy Policy.

Where are my photos stored?

Photos are transmitted over HTTPS to our backend (Railway) and to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to compute your results. Photos are retained for the duration of your subscription plus up to 90 days, then deleted. Photos submitted via the OpenAI API are not used to train OpenAI's models. See the full retention policy.
